Roots Run Deep

We give back through youth camps and community events. Our mission extends beyond basketball, leveraging the nature of the game to deepen our players’ and their families’ roots in our Bainbridge Island community.

Furthermore, we have a unique and special relationship to the Bainbridge Island High School Basketball Program.

Many of our Roots players go on to compete at BHS, and those players often give back by working with the younger Roots kids.

Scott Orness

Director of Basketball

Coach Orness is currently the head coach at Bainbridge High School and previously at North Kitsap High School (9 seasons). In his 9 years at North Kitsap, his teams won 9 straight Olympic League Championships, 4 District Titles, and won the State Championship in 2020.

Scott is passionate about bringing high level basketball to Bainbridge and developing a strong community program to provide opportunities for personal and athletic growth.
